Songs for music therapy. There are numerous potential interventions available for music therapists to help adults with mental health conditions reach their clinical objectives. This chapter describes different music therapy interventions that can be used in adult mental health settings and how to deliver them using an illness management and recovery approach.The dataset for this study was collected retrospectively and included 14 songs written by 11 service members over the course of 2–3 individual sessions facilitated by a board-certified music therapist (RV).
